Terms of service

Who we are

CueStride is operated by Handz LTD, a company registered in Israel, at Jerusalem 14, Givat Shmuel, Israel ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of CueStride: the app at app.cuestride.com and this site. By using CueStride you accept them. If you use it for an organization, you confirm that you may accept them on its behalf.

The service

CueStride runs shared stage timers. A controller runs the timers and messages of a room, and every screen that opens the room's viewer link shows them at the same moment. You can use a room without an account, or sign up for an account for your organization.

Accounts

Sign-in is provided by WorkOS on our behalf. Keep your sign-in secure: you are responsible for what is done with your account. An account belongs to an organization, whose admins manage its members, moderators, rooms, branding, and plan. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Room links

Anyone who has a room's viewer link can watch the room, and anyone who has a controller link can control it. Share controller links only with the people running the show, and revoke a link you no longer trust in the room's Links dialog. On Pro and higher plans you can also protect a room's screens with a password.

Rooms without an account

A room made without an account runs within the free plan's limits and is deleted after 90 days without activity. Keep its controller link: it is your way back to the room until you add the room to an account.

Plans and payment

• The Starter plan is free.
• Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle sells the paid plans, event passes, and add-ons: it takes the payment, issues the invoice, handles taxes, and handles refunds and returns under its buyer terms, together with our refund policy. The price is shown before you buy.
• A subscription renews until it is cancelled. After a cancellation the plan stays until the end of the period already paid for.
• When a plan ends or moves to a lower one, the rooms and timers beyond the new plan's limits are disabled: they can be deleted but not used, until others are deleted or the plan is raised again. We delete nothing because of a change of plan, and before you cancel, the app shows what the cancellation will disable.
• We may change prices for future periods. A subscriber hears of a change at least 30 days before it applies to them.

Acceptable use

You may not use CueStride to:

• break the law or infringe the rights of others;
• show or send content that is unlawful, harassing, or deceptive;
• reach rooms or accounts that are not yours;
• disrupt or overload the service, or work around its plan and rate limits;
• resell the service without our written permission.

Your content

The rooms, timers, messages, names, logos, and anything else you put into CueStride remain yours. You let us store, process, and show them only to run the service for you, and to name your organization as a customer as the section after next describes. You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload, such as a logo.

Personal data in your rooms

Your rooms can hold personal data about other people, such as a speaker's name. For that data, your organization decides why and how it is used, and we process it on your behalf, on these terms:

• We use it only to run CueStride for you, as these terms and your use of the app instruct, unless the law requires otherwise, in which case we tell you first where the law allows.
• Only the people who run CueStride can reach it, and they are bound to keep it confidential. We protect it as the privacy policy's Security section describes.
• It is hosted by Hetzner, which runs our servers, and carried and backed up by Cloudflare, under terms that bind them as these terms bind us; our analytics and email providers never receive it. We tell you before we add a provider that would handle it, so that you can object.
• We help you answer requests from the people it concerns, and tell you without undue delay of a breach that affects it.
• When your account is closed, we delete it as the privacy policy's retention section describes, unless the law requires us to keep it.
• We give you the information you need to show that these terms are kept. A data processing agreement with these terms in full is available on request.

Naming you as a customer

While your account is open, we may name your organization as a CueStride customer, and show its name and logo, on our site, in presentations, and in our marketing. You allow us to use the name and the logo your account shows at the time for this, and nothing else. This covers organizations only: we never publish a person's name this way, so if your organization's name is a person's name, we do not use it. If you would rather we did not name you, write to hello@cuestride.com: we stop within 30 days of your message or of your account closing, though we cannot recall what is already printed. We never quote you or describe your use of CueStride without asking you first.

Privacy, cookies, and emails

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why: our analytics, the cookies our advertising partners set on cuestride.com, which load only if you agree where the law requires it, and the emails we send. It applies to your use of CueStride.

An account comes with service emails: sign-in codes, invitations, receipts, and notices about your account, your plan, and changes to these terms or the privacy policy. They are part of the service. They stop when your account is closed, or earlier if you use your mail app's unsubscribe button on one of them or mark one as spam, and then we cannot tell you of changes by email. Marketing emails are separate: we send them only if you ask for them, as the privacy policy describes, and each one has a link to unsubscribe.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions about CueStride, we may use them freely, without owing you anything for them.

Availability, and your show

We work to keep CueStride available and correct, but we do not promise that it will run without interruption or error, and we may change it or take it down for maintenance. CueStride is a tool for your show, not a guarantee of it: for the moments that matter, keep a fallback, such as a clock the speaker can see or a printed schedule.

Warranties and liability

As far as the law allows, CueStride is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or a delayed show, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for CueStride in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits a liability the law does not allow us to limit, or the rights a consumer has where they live.

Ending the service

You may stop using CueStride at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to privacy@cuestride.com. We may suspend or end access that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk, and where we can, we tell you first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We tell account holders of a material change by email, and in the app, at least 30 days before it applies. The date at the top of this page is the version in force.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Israel alone decide disputes about them, except where a consumer's own law lets them go to court where they live.
